Kangmar, 13,900 ft. 14 miles.

see photographs below

We had an uneventful march through a fairly open valley along the Ralung Chu Stream. Dzasa. Norbhu Dondup, Rai Bahadur, British Trade Agent, Yatung, met us a mile or two from Kangmar. He has been in Lhasa for a month and has come back to meet us. He was dressed in all his fine Tibetan robes, with a very fine embroidered saddle cloth.

In the afternoon Gould and Neame had a long talk with Norbhu on affairs in Lhasa, and the best methods of 'carrying out the tasks of the Mission.

There was some curious rock strata near Kangmar with the strata folded completely over in a circle.

Chapman collected some flowers including some pretty blue delphinium. We also saw and smelt a lot of artemisia from which the drug santonin can be extracted.
