With the exception of Mr. Gould we all dined at Tsarong Shape's - a farewell dinner to Colonel Neame. Tsarong has been the good friend of many British Officers in Tibet and he and his wife would be an exceptional host and hostess anywhere. The dinner, too, would be exceptional anywhere. We were offered at least forty dishes, all perfectly cooked and, as they were not so highly seasoned as most of the Tibetan food we have had so far, more suited to our Western taste.

After dinner Tsarong showed 8 -millimetre cinema film which he had taken himself; he has a small electrically driven projector.
