There were many side valleys in the vicinity of Gyantse and Hopkinson and other military and civil staff associated with the British Trade Agency would frequently visit these hills to try their hand at game shooting. A ruined settlement can be seen in the valley below. The flat ground in the left of the image was the place where British Agency staff went partridge shooting [see Notes]
