Other Information - Cultural Background: Bell and Kennedy arrived for a short visit to Ganden Monastery on August 15th 1921. Bell comments in his diary that this is an auspicious day on which to visit, being the 8th day of the Tibetan month, the other two being the 15th and last days [Diary Vol. X, pp. 7 - 16] [MS 25/02/2006]
