This photograph was taken in an area where Hopkinson and other members of the Trade Agency and related staff would go to shoot geese, just outside Gyantse. Geese in flight can be seen in the lower left of the image. Gyantse dzong and the rear of the monastery precinct walls can be seen in the distance.

Other Information - Description: [Extract from taped interview, Richard Blurton and Mrs Hopkinson] '10 - Gyantse - wild geese on the plain. Dzong and monastery precinct wall at the bottom left. The dzong clearly stands quite separately from the monastery. The red monastery precinct wall was very conspicuous, while the monastery itself was situated just down on the flat of the plain, with the town stretching up towards the monastery' [MS 12/08/2006]
