A competitor on horseback at the shooting contest holding his bow and with arrows carried in a quiver on the side of his saddle. This photograph was probably taken on the occasion of the annual Gun and Arrow Competition at Gyantse in 1927.

Notes on print/mount - The original negative from which this print was developed is missing. Two contact prints, made using Velox paper, are placed in the original negative sleeve, although neither of them has any inscription on the back and the brand name style suggests that they were made sometime after the original photograph was taken [MS 03/07/2006]
