A group of young monks having a reading lesson near a small temple on the way down from Gyantse Dzong. Hopkinson took this photograph on the afternoon of March 14th 1927 when he went to repay the calls of the two Dzongpon who had visited him previously

In Negative - 'B-49' has been written across the top of the negative in blue-black ink, and has been partially erased [MS 30/06/2006]

Notes on print/mount - Two contact prints made from this negative are contained in A. J. Hopkinson's negative case with the negative. The first print is a facsimile print in preparation for publication or reproduction. It has the reference 'P1353', 'BB & C? [?]' and an instruction to reduce the size to 3 1/4" across. The second print has 'A. J. Hopkinson' and 'B.49' written across the back in pencil [MS 30/06/2006]
