Crowd jostling to enter the Jokhang through the Shingra entrance to the right of the main entrance. A crowd of people, mainly monks and officials, are positioned on the roof. They are all looking down. Among those trying to make their way through the entrance are a group of men in uniform wearing topee hats. There is also a group of people on the first floor veranda partially obscured by curtains of a dark-coloured material edged with light-coloured stripes. The photograph was taken from the Doring house opposite.
