Manual Catalogues -

Manual Catalogues - Bell's List of Illustrations entry: "[No. of chapter] I. [Subject of Chapter] Sikkim [Subject of Illustration] Q.9 (av) In a Sikkim forest. [Remarks] L.8 (D.L)"

Technical Information - Although image 1998.286.7.1 is a copy negative, the lantern slide demonstrates that Bell clearly had an original print as well at some point, from which the lantern slide was made [MS 18/8/2004]

Notes on print/mount - This slide seems to have been used by Bell in the lantern lecture titled 'The Dalai Lama'. Most such slides have an additional number marked in blue, black or blue-black ink on the surround. A number (possibly 9?) seems to have been written on this slide but has become very faded [MS 10/9/2004]
