Notes on print/mount - The number 'YN 71' has been written on the back of the print in the centre in pencil. [MS 30/07/2006]
Other Information - Photographer: Images with 'YN' inscribed into them seem all to have been taken by Evan Yorke Nepean, who accompanied the British Mission to Lhasa during the period September - December 1936 as wireless operator [MS 4/2/2005]
Other Information - Related Images: This image is part of a pair of images of this baby [1998.131.238 and 1998.131.239]. Image 1998.131.238 appears to have been preferred as it is covered in reproduction instructions, whereas this image is not annotated on the back at all. There has been some movement of the domestic vessels in the two images to create the best effect, but this image also has the baby's face in shadow. Also, one has been taken in portrait format, the other in landscape format [MS 4/2/2005]
Other Information - Dates: This image relates directly to those taken by Chapman prefixed with 'C.7.' . This has enabled dating of the image to November 13th - 15th 1936, when harvesting was taking place around Lhasa [MS 16/03/2006]
