Part of the Tse Gutor ceremony at Palkhor Chode, Gyantse, which marked the end of the old Tibetan year. See A. J. Monks are leaning out of the windows by the steps and the ends of radung horns can be seen protruding under the curtain on the left side of the stairs

Notes on print/mount - One contact print made from this negative is contained in A. J. Hopkinson's negative case with the negative. The caption 'A dance at Palkhor Choden Monastery. The solemn procession of Censer-bearers, musicians etc' has been written on the back of the print in pencil, as has the name 'A. J. Hopkinson' and the reference 'G.31' [MS 19/08/2006]
