Laden ferry boat on the the swirling waters of the Kyichu river at Ramagang four miles south of Lhasa onnthe Kyichu river. There are people with animals waiting on the bank of the river on the left. The ferry is flat-bottomed and the prow, in the shape of a horse's head, can just be seen.

Other Information - Dates: The contact print of this image seems to relate to others that can be attributed to this timeframe as dates written on the back include from 1946 onwards. The batch of images also include those of the new Nechung Oracle who assumed his position in 1948, and inscription pillars that HER visited only during this time [MS 17/12/2005]
