Two dancers at a ceremony in Tengoling Monastery near Gyantse on the 10th day of the 5th Tibetan month in 1927. The courtyard is surrounded by onlookers who watch events from every vantage point. A. J. Hopkinson left his given location in the first floor balcony above the main entrance of the courtyard to take this photograph and went right down into the courtyard itself among the dancers.

In Negative - 'D-69' has been written down the left edge of the negative in black ink, although it has been partially erased. The right edge of the negative has been cut very crudely [MS 27/07/2006]

Notes on print/mount - One contact print made from this negative is contained in A. J. Hopkinson's negative case with the negative. The print was made using Velox paper. The name "A. J. Hopkinson" has been written on the back of the print in pencil, as has the reference 'D.69' [MS 27/07/2006]
