An old man seated in front of a wall Gyantse bazaar with a large open-weave basket in the left of the image and some small vessels on the ground on the right. The man is spinning a prayer wheel. The walls of Gyantse monastery can be seen in the background out of focus, as can the upper storeys of some of the monastery buildings

Notes on print/mount - One contact print made from this negative is contained in A. J. Hopkinson's negative case with the negative. The print was made using Velox paper. 'A. J. Hopkinson' and 'C 76' have been written on the back of the print in pencil [MS 13/07/2006]
