The wife of the Henry Martin, the Head Clerk at Gyantse. She was born in Lhasa and can in this image be seen wearing the distinctive head-dress typical of the Lhasa region, adorned with corals and pearls. The background suggests that she is standing in the Palkhor Chode monastery close to the Kumbum
