Notes on print/mount - 'Summer palace; ink no: 119; pencil no: ; blue no: 51'; from an envelope marked 'Scenes around Lhasa and the Norbhu Lingka = Jewel Park, the summer palace'. [KC 14/08/2006]
Manual Catalogues - Caption in Chapman's hand-written list of negatives made whilst on the Mission to Lhasa, 1936-7 [See PRM Manuscripts Collection]: 'Ditto [Regent’s Palace from above] people coming to ?' [MS 14/08/2006]
Other Information - Related Images: It has been possible to identify this image as '2.13' from the collection made by Frederick Spencer Chapman on behalf of the Mission in 1936-7 by cross-referencing it to '2.12' [1998.131.514 in Chapman collection in PRM], and then to the handlist for these images, as the two images were clearly taken moments apart. Images prefixed with '2.' taken on the Mission comprise a group of negatives including Kampa people, Kinchung, a shuttle cock game and images of the Regent’s palace. They seem to have been taken between January 15th - 27th 1937 [MS 14/08/2006]
