Manual Catalogues - Bell's List of Illustrations entry for H.69: "[No. of chapter] V. [Subject of Chapter] Dalai Lama. [Subject of illustration] H.69 (e) Potala with Edict Pillar in middle distance. [Where placed - book page] I, 3. [Remarks] L.39 (D.L) [Lantern slide 39]"
Other Information - Related Images: Bell does not distinguish in his list of illustrations between H.69a and H.69b (1998.285.76 and 1998.275.77). The images differ most obviously in the fact that 1998.285.76 shows people on the bridge. [MS 14/5/2004]
In Negative - A small piece of black tape of the kind sometimes found stuck across the edges of Bell's negatives is visible in the bottom right hand corner [MS 30/6/2004]
