Other Information - Dates: A date range of 1904- 1922 has been given for this image because 1904 marks the setting up of the Gyantse Trade Agency, and 1922 is the first date that one can determine that Rosemeyer went to Lhasa officially. Exhibition - This image has been exhibited in the permanent display of photographs showing weapons at the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford, c.1994 onwards: 'ASIA, TIBET, GYANTSE. At the starting point of gun and arrow shooting at Gyantse, showing the Tibetan prong guns. Photographer: Sir Charles Bell, 1920.' Note that both the attribution and date given here are incorrect, and that the photograph was in fact taken by Willoughby Rosemeyer. [PG 14/4/2004]
