A few days ago we were challenged by the Ladaki football team. Today we received a note from their Captain asking us to refrain "from wearing those fearful boots which some of you used last time. Because we are not able to buy such boots in the market and because we fear if you use those boots".
We played on the somewhat stony parade ground in front of the Norbhu Lingka barracks, and beat them six love. Their team ranged from a bearded shaven-headed goal-keeper to a crowd of boys who closely followed the ball in a breathless pack.
