Other Information - Location: Richardson mentions the site in High Peaks, Pure Earth , London, Serindia Publications, 1998, p. 317. " Rtse-thang stands at the mouth of the Yarlung valley, the heartland of the old Tibetan kingdom and rich in traces of that age and many monasteries of later periods. At Rtse-thang itself is Dga'-ldan Chos-'khor-gling (1949) of the Phag-mo-gru-pa: it was later much enlarged and embellished with images of the Dge-lugs-pa church." [KC 3/6/2006]
